Youngsook Park received her BM & MM degrees from Seoul National University in South Korea.
She then further studied performance at the Koln Musik Hochschule and musicology at the
Frankfurter Goethe University in Germany. She has performed in the Hofheimer Musik Tage, a
music festival in Germany, as well as at the Tibor Vagar Music Festival in Switzerland. She has
appeared in many solo and chamber recitals in Korea, Germany and in the States. Before
moving to the States, she was on the faculty at Kyunghee University, Seoul Art School and
Sunhwa Art School in Seoul, Korea.
Since coming to the States in 1989, she has been active as a member of MTAC and MTNA. She
has served as President of the MTAC San Gabriel Valley Branch and continues to be active as a
Board Member. She was also a long time board member of Southern California Junior Bach
Festival from 1996 to 2017.
Currently she has a private studio in Diamond Bar. Her students have won top prizes in
numerous competitions and have been accepted to some of the nation’s top music schools,
including Peabody Institute, Oberlin Conservatory, USC, Eastman School of Music, Indiana
University, Northwestern University and Rice University. She enjoys coaching young musicians
in the Orange County and Inland Empire Branches of Junior Chamber Music
