COMPETITION

**For the first round of the Solo Music Competition and Amici Chamber competition, the video submissions will be judged by the faculty of the Juliard School. They will personally comment on each students performance, and the comment will be distributed to everyone whom applies. **

Amici Solo Music Competition for Pianos & Strings


Application Deadline/Video Submission: March 31st, 2026
Violin, Viola, Cello, & Piano

Category A: 12 & under (Time limit: 5 min.), $80 
Category B: 15 & under  (Time limit: 5 min.), $90 
Category C: 18 & under (Time limit: 7 min.), $100 
Category D: 19 & up (Time limit: 7 min.), $110 

Solo Music Competition Rules & Guidelines:
This competition is open to pianists and string players of all ages with a free choice of repertoire.
  1. Age is determined by the application deadline (March 31, 2026). The applicants have to submit a proof of age (a copy of driver’s license, passport, birth certificate, etc.).
  2. Memorization is required.  String players must provide their own accompanist for the competition.
  3. First place winners will be invited to perform at the final round Winners Showcase Concert.
  4. All winners agree to allow their names, photographs and video files to be used in connection with the competition as publicity for the Amici Summer Music Festival.  
  5. There are NO REFUNDS of application fees in the event of non-participation.  
  6. The competition winners must attend the 2026 Amici International Summer Music Festival in order to receive the announced scholarship. 

1st Round Awards:
Winners of the 1st round will receive trophies and an invitation to perform at the Winners Showcase Concert at the California State University of Long Beach on April 25th, 2026 at 7 PM. 

Amici Scholarship Award for Pianos and Strings:
1st Prize $1000 scholarship for 2026 Amici International Music Festival

2nd Prize $800 scholarship for 2026 Amici International Music Festival
3rd Prize $500 scholarship for 2026 Amici International Music Festival


Final Round Awards (Saturday, April 25th, 2026):
Grand Prize (one selected from all instruments): Full scholarship for 2026 Amici International Music Festival

All Competition Awards 
The winners’ awards can be applied to the 2026 Amici International Music Festival. Students may use only one award—whichever is of the greatest value.

Amici Chamber Music Competition
Application Deadline/Video Submission: March 31st, 2026

CATEGORIES & APPLICATION FEES:
Average age of the group members as of March 31st, 2026 (i.e. 11+12+11=11.33, Category A).  

Category A: 12 & under (Time limit: 7 min.), $70 per ensemble member
Category B: 15 & under  (Time limit: 7 min.), $80 per ensemble member
Category C: 18 & under (Time limit: 7 min.), $90 per ensemble member
Category D: 19 & up (Time limit: 10 min.), $100 per ensemble member

Amici Scholarship Award for Chamber Music. 

Competition Awards:

First Place: $2000 scholarship (per group) for 2026 Amici International Music Festival
Second Place: $1500 scholarship (per group) for 2026 Amici International Music Festival
Third Place: $1000 scholarship (per group) for 2026 Amici International Music Festival

Chamber Music Competition Rules & Guidelines
 This competition is open to all small chamber music ensembles composed of two to five performers. Only one piano student is permitted per Instrumental Ensemble. Instrumental Ensembles are chamber ensembles, defined as one person per instrument part.

Any standard, published ensemble piece movement.  Multi-movements will be accepted if they can be performed within the given time limit.

  2. All winners agree to allow their names, photographs and video files to be used in connection with the competition as publicity for the Amici Summer Music Festival.  
  3. There are NO REFUNDS of application fees in the event of non-participation.  
  4. The competition winners must attend the 2026 Amici International Summer Music Festival in order to receive the announced scholarship. Due to the instrumentation offered at the festival, this special award is applicable to piano and strings students only. If all of the ensemble members cannot attend, a partial scholarship will be awarded.  ​
  5. For the Amici Chamber music competition, the video submission is the final submission. The chamber music groups will not compete in the Amici Solo Final Competition.
